Keith Urban shares “Crimson Blue” from ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’

ABC/Image Group LA

Keith Urban is contributing to wife Nicole Kidman‘s show, Nine Perfect Strangers, in the form of a song.

In the finale episode of the hit Hulu series, fans can hear Keith’s new song, “Crimson Blue.” A departure from his country sound, the serene track features a mellow acoustic guitar and choral voices as Keith sings, “We’re returning to the stars that we’re made of/We all find our own way/In the end we’ll see we never were alone.”

To celebrate the song’s release, the superstar singer has created his own “Crimson Blue” concoction, a spoof on the drug-filled smoothies made at Tranquillum, the health and wellness center run by Kidman’s character, Masha.

In a video, Keith shows us how to make the recipe, which includes blue milk “from a very sad cow,” he quips, along with blueberries, a “micro amount” of blue cheese, and bananas. “These are special bananas from Tranquillum. It’s a wonderful resort we heard about,” he jokes.

Nicole makes a subtle appearance, lurking behind her husband in a white dress, adding in a few drops of a red liquid to the mix for a crimson touch. “Relax,” she tells him.

The final episode of Nine Perfect Strangers streams on Hulu on Wednesday.

Sam Hunt on his songwriting process: “I’m always nostalgic”

Connor Dwyer

Sam Hunt leaned into nostalgia when writing his new single, “23.”

The song finds Sam reflecting on a past love, wondering where she is now and remembering her as a “Memphis queen” with “long blonde hair.” “No matter where I go/No matter what I do/I’ll never be 23 with anyone but you,” he sings.

“I’m always nostalgic. I’m always thinking about the past,” Sam shares with People“I love that happy, sad feeling in music. I’m really attracted to. It comes out when I’m writing quite a bit.”

The singer-songwriter adds that he rarely writes about people directly in his life, rather pulling inspiration from movies, culture and the world around him.

“When I write songs, I’m really intimidated to write songs about people I’m really directly involved with. My songs tend to be an amalgamation of a lot of different experiences,” he describes. “My songs come through sort of this osmosis that comes from being around people who are going through things.”

“23” is currently in the top 30 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Dan + Shay’s “I Should Probably Go to Bed” becomes a sing-along at Madison Square Garden

Patrick Tracy

Dan + Shay are back on their The (Arena) Tour, which included a show on Thursday night (September 16) at Madison Square Garden. The duo, made up of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooneyshared a video of the sold-out crowd singing “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” reflecting on the importance of the moment.

“When the world shut down last year, we didn’t see each other in person for a few months,” Dan said. “It was our first time being apart for more than a few days since we met in 2012. When we finally got back together at my house, the first thing we did was sit down at the piano and sing. We finished a song called ‘I Should Probably Go to Bed,’ and recorded it in a guest bedroom that very same day.”

Dan + Shay could have never imagined how it would feel to someday hear that song sung back to them at Madison Square Garden.

“This song is incredibly special to us for so many reasons, and there is no greater feeling than hearing y’all sing it back to us on The (Arena) Tour,” Dan said.
