Brett Eldredge serenades nephew with one of his biggest hits

Warner Music Nashville

Brett Eldredge has found the ideal way to soothe a baby.

The “Lose My Mind” hitmaker is now an uncle, and he’s communicating with his new nephew through song. Brett shared an adorable video that shows him serenading the baby boy with an a capella rendition of his hit “Mean To Me.” The country star cradles the baby in his hands, swaying and smiling as he softly sings, “If falling’s how you feel/And perfect is what you see/Then I’d be what you mean to me.”

“Life update…I’m an uncle now and I’m here to spoil this lil guy and sing away all the hiccups,” Brett writes alongside the sweet video, the tiny baby staring up at him while he sings.

“Mean to Me” is the final single released off Brett’s debut album, Bring You Back. It reached #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2015.

Brett released his new album, Songs About You, on June 17.

Kane Brown takes on role of grand marshal for Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series

ABC

Kane Brown was the grand marshal for the Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, and it appears he had a great time.

On Sunday, the country hitmaker shared a series of snaps from his racing adventure in Nashville, which started with a police escort to the Nashville Superspeedway. On Instagram Stories, Kane revealed that he wore a Dale Earnhardt shirt to the race that fellow NASCAR legend Richard Petty took the liberty of signing.

“When you wear a Dale Earnhardt shirt to the race and Richard Petty gets mad and signs it,” Kane says in the video shrugging with a laugh, adding the caption, “2 kings” with several fire emojis. He posted photo evidence of Richard signing the shirt.

The “Good As You” hitmaker also shared a video from his suite that shows the cars racing around the track as he cheers on Martin Truex Jr.

To make the day even more special, Kane invited two members of the Boys and Girls Club, an organization he’s been a longtime supporter of, to help give the command for drivers to start their engines.

Maren Morris gets emotional on stage in wake of Roe v. Wade ruling

ABC

Maren Morris offered an emotional performance of “Hummingbird” following the news that Roe v. Wade was overturned.

While in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend, Maren got choked up while performing the song that she wrote after finding out she was pregnant with her son Hayes. The song opens with the baby softly saying, “Mama.”

In a video posted by a fan account, Maren and her guitarist Annie Clements, who’s a mother to a young girl, wrap their arms around each other as they passionately sing, “I’ll hold you in my lovin’ arms/But I’ll let you fly free/Hummingbird, hummingbird/Now your heart beats in me.”

Maren later took to Instagram to share photos of the tender moment, showing her arm wrapped around Annie as she cries with her face in her hands; the two friends also embrace each other in a hug.

“Mothers,” Maren simply captions the performance.

On Friday, in wake of the Roe v. Wade announcement, which overturns the federal constitutional right to abortion, Maren told Rolling Stone in a statement, “Today, I hold my two year old son with tears streaming down my face because all my love and planning still wasn’t enough to protect him from being born in a country who could do this to women. Women, the ones who gave each Supreme Court Justice on the bench the right to be here, the dexterity of their pen hand. Tomorrow I will fight, but today I am grieving.”

Kenny Chesney sings with Old Dominion at their pop-up show in Chicago

ABC

Kenny Chesney had the time of his life during a surprise appearance at Old Dominion‘s show in Chicago on Friday.

The night before they all took the stage at Soldier Field stadium in Chicago for the Here and Now Tour, Kenny decided to support his opening act during their pop-up set at the famous Joe’s on Weed St.

OD was performing “Save it For a Rainy Day,” the #1 hit that band members Matthew Ramsey and Brad Tursi co-wrote for Kenny, when the singer himself came on stage, much to the surprise of the intimate crowd. A fan video shows the superstar grinning from ear to ear as Matthew and Brad trade vocals and the crowd sings along. Kenny also supported on guitar before hopping on the mic to close out the chorus.

“When in Chicago…,” the hitmaker captioned his post about the event alongside a series of photos that show him and the band beaming as they join together on stage.

This isn’t the first time Kenny has popped up at an OD show. In April, the “Knowing You” singer surprised fans when he appeared at the group’s pop-up show at Crowbar in Tampa, the night before his Here and Now Tour launched.

Kenny, OD and fellow opening acts Carly Pearce and Dan + Shay continue on the Here and Now Tour through the end of August.

The cover of Luke Combs’ ’Growin’ Up’ is a nod to the early days of his career

Sony Music Nashville

The cover of Luke Combs‘ new album, Growin’ Up, comes from a personal place.

When brainstorming ideas for the cover, which features half of the singer’s face over a sketch drawing of a bar with neon signs advertising ice cold beer, Luke pulled inspiration from the early days of his career before he was a chart-topping superstar.

The image serves as an homage to the local bars he used to perform at in his home state of North Carolina before moving to Nashville where he’s since become one of the biggest artists in country music.

“I really wanted it to feel like those bar gigs that I was playing a lot when I started out, especially in North Carolina, so that’s where the idea came from,” he explains. “I almost wanted it to feel like when you see the bar in the background, it almost looks like I’m walking in the bar to do a show. [That] was in my head what I thought it was going to be is like we’re walking in and there’s a stage, if you were to flip the camera around, there would be a stage that I was walking to.”

Though the album dropped on Friday, Luke already has a hit on his hands and another on the way, as the lead single, “Doin’ This,” became his 14th #1 hit last month. The current single off the album, “The Kind of Love We Make,” is also racing up the top 30 on country radio.

Jimmie Allen on why he waited to release “Down Home”: “It’s so personal”

BBR Music Group

Jimmie Allen‘s current single, “Down Home,” could’ve hit country radio a lot sooner, but there’s a specific reason Jimmie wanted to wait on its release.

“Down Home” serves as a message to his late father, James Allen, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 65. The song was originally supposed to be released before Jimmie’s 2021 hit, “Freedom Was a Highway,” but the singer insisted that they hold off until he had time to process his father’s death.

“Jimmie said, ‘I can’t right now…it’s so personal. The wound is still open, and I need some time to heal,’” Jon Loba, president of Jimmie’s record label BBR Music Group, recalls to Billboard

Jimmie touches on another personal story involving his father on his new album, Tulip Drive, with the track “Habits & Hearts,” which discusses his father’s struggles with addiction.

“Just hearing the song and remembering him wanting to get better and then falling short a few times, I felt like I was in a time and place to sing it now and be honest with it,” the singer describes. “Because even though my dad had his issues, he always reminded me that I shouldn’t do it. He said, ‘I’m telling you, this can cripple you.’”

“Down Home” is currently making its way into the top 40 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It’s also featured on Tulip Drive, which is named after the street Jimmie’s grandmother grew up on in his native state of Delaware.

Luke Bryan sings with a baby on his hip in Las Vegas

ABC/Gavin Bond

Luke Bryan had a very special guest join him on stage in Las Vegas.

Luke was in the middle of his headlining performance at Resorts World when he somehow managed to pick up a baby from the audience and walk around the stage singing “All My Friends Say” with the baby boy perched on his hip, not missing a beat.

“It’s been a hell of a party. At some point, I got a baby,” he announced, inciting laughter from the crowd. “Where is the mother of this child?”

When the mother came on stage to retrieve her son, the country superstar said, “I’m sorry I stole your baby” and couldn’t help but talk baby talk to the tot before taking a picture with him in his mother’s arms.

“This is going to make a hell of a scrapbook one day,” he quipped to the baby.

“You know it’s a party when you end up holding someone’s baby,” the singer captions the sweet moment alongside #LukeInVegas. “Never a dull moment!” commented Resorts World.

Luke continues his Las Vegas residency with two shows this weekend and will then resume the show at the end of August.
