Former Presidents Bush, Carter, Clinton & Obama line up to honor Garth Brooks next month in NYC

ABC/Image Group LA Garth Brooks will receive the first-ever George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award for Caring and Compassion during a gala next month in New York City.

The 41st president -- who was a huge country music fan -- started the Points of Light campaign, which even had its own theme song, sung by Randy Travis.

Garth is being honored for his charitable work with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and his Teammates for Kids Foundation.

“The fact that this award is a reflection of 41, his beloved Barbara, and the work they believed in is the greatest honor,” Garth reflects. “An award is only as good as its recipient. My hope and goal is to make the Bush family and the honorary chairs proud that Garth Brooks is the first name on this award for caring and compassion.”

Presidents George W. BushJimmy CarterBill Clinton, and Barack Obama are the honorary chairs for the event that’s set for Thursday, September 26 at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City.

Meanwhile, Garth has revealed that the third stop on his Dive Bar Tour will take place just a few days prior, on September 23 at the legendary Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas. The only way to get tickets for the show at Texas’ longest continually-running dancehall is through local country radio stations.
