Big Machine Midland’s giving fans the most extensive preview yet of their upcoming sophomore album in a new YouTube video titled Let It Roll (The Studio Tapes).
The five-minute mini-documentary takes you behind-the-scenes in the recording studio as Cameron Duddy, Jess Carson, and Mark Wystrach discuss their second record, along with songwriters Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally.
The trio describes Let It Roll as both a “continuation of the sound we established on the first album” and “Texas to the core,” adding that there’s a “lot more tempo” and it’s “more live and loud.”
Cameron also reveals that he and Jess each sing lead on a couple of tracks on the album, joking that he convinced Mark to step aside with “a portfolio of photographs that are quite damning.”
The full Let It Roll album arrives August 23. Its lead single, “Mr. Lonely,” is already a top thirty hit.
