Riverhouse Artists/Columbia Nashville The long-awaited lead single from Luke Combs’ forthcoming sophomore album has finally arrived. Already a concert favorite, “Beer Never Broke My Heart” also happens to be title of the North Carolina native’s current headlining tour.
“It takes one hand to count the things I can count on/No, there ain’t much, man, that ain’t never let me down,” Luke sings on the tune that’s destined to become a country anthem.
“Long neck ice cold beer never broke my heart,” he continues. “Like diamond rings and football teams have torn this boy apart/Like a neon dream, it just dawned on me that bars and this guitar/And long neck ice cold beer never broke my heart.”
Luke will chat with his fans today at noon ET on YouTube Music, ahead of the premiere of the song’s music video at 12:15 p.m. ET.
The reigning CMA New Artist of the Year will perform “Beer Never Broke My Heart” Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You can tune in to watch starting at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
“Beer” is the follow-up to Luke’s first five singles, which all went to number one.
